Prayin for Stellan!

I am asking for you to please pray for little Stellan and his family. I just stumbled upon his mommies blog today and this poor little baby is really struggling. I know how hard it is to have a sick child and I also know how much prayer can do for you. You can click on his link to the right and read more about this little warrior.

Radon?

OK so today we had a radon mitigation system installed in our home. I recently talked with a friend and they had just had one installed, so I got curious and checked our levels of radon in our basement. The safe level of radon is a 4 and ours came in at 26, which is extremely high. We have lied in this housefor almost 11 years, so now I worry that I did not catch it quick
enough. They say that at a level of 20, about 36 people out of 1000 could get lung cancer if exposed to this level over a lifetime. So my advice is to go to the hardware store and buy the test kit and test your home. The mitigation system that we had installed today cost about $1100 and only took about two hours to install. Definitely worth it from my viewpoint!

Disney countdown oficially at 70 days, 14 hours, 53 minutes, and 27 seconds. We are so ready for vacation. It seems like summer is flying by and we have hardly had any time to enjoy it!

I have been trying to get the kids curriculum ready for school to start on August 17. We are using Switched on Schoolhouse by Alpha Omega for Blondie who’s in 6th grade, Abeka accademy video curriculum for Mr. Red in 3rd grade, and Abeka Accademy also for Dimples in 1st grade. We have used the Abeka DVD program for Mr. Red since Kindergarten, but this year we will be trying the video streaming on the internet. It sounds really great and we don’t have to worry about the dvd’s. The kids have all done really good with these curriculum choices in the past, so I hope it stays that way.
